Here’s a new alternative mobility option that we’re certain your fur buddies are going to love. In Japan, e-bikes are now being built with compact underseat compartments designed specifically for small pets.
This particular model is the Pony “Dog Bike.” It’s being offered by Good Shape on the Japanese crowdfunding website Makauke and is currently available at ¥139,860 (just over P56,000) with an early bird supported discount.
It’s powered by a 400W electric motor and removable 15mAh lithium-ion battery, has a range of up to 40km, and has a top speed of 35kph. You can charge it using a regular outlet at home and going from zero to a full battery takes around six hours.

Just note that when we said this thing will fit smaller pets, we do mean smaller pets. Medium-sized dogs won’t be able to squeeze in, so reserve a ride like this for Yorkshire terriers, Dachsunds, and other similar dog breeds. Cats should be fine, too. And if your fur buddy isn’t too keen on riding inside the bike, you can also attach a small basket up front.
Frankly, there really isn’t too much to explain here. It’s an e-bike for pet lovers. Would you buy something like this if it were made available in the Philippine market?
