We’ve already given you a rundown of some of the biggest launches from the Philippine motorcycle industry in 2023. Now, we look ahead to 2024 and see what else the industry has in store for us.

We compiled some of the new models that didn’t make it to the Philippines this year but we hope to see land here in 2024. We’ve got quite a few here, but do tell us if there’s anything we missed.

1) CFMoto 450MT

CFMoto 450MT

CFMoto wowed us with the 450NK earlier this year. If that’s anything to go by, then the 450MT—which boasts a similar-displacement engine with the same number of cylinders—should be just as good. No confirmation yet as of this writing, but seeing as the brand continues to do well in the Philippines, it only makes sense for it to continue bringing in new models such as this one.

2) Yamaha MT-09

Yamaha MT-09

The MT line has always one of the most solid naked-bike offerings not just in Yamaha’s stable but across the industry in general. It’s built a reputation as one of the most impressive and reliable bikes out there. Now that Yamaha has updated one of those bikes in the MT-09 with updated tech, styling, and performance bits, we don’t see any reason for the brand to not bring the new model here.

3) Triumph Tiger 900

Triumph Tiger 900

Like CFMoto, Triumph is a brand that’s performed excellently here in the Philippines. And now with a new Tiger 900 on the horizon, it would be perfect timing for Triumph to bring the adventure bike here, especially since BMW Motorrad has yet to launch the F800 GS and F900 GS here.

4) Honda NX500

Honda NX500

The CB500X has grown quite the following here in our market over the years. It’s a bang-for-your-buck adventure tourer, after all. Now that Honda has updated the model with brand-new styling and an entirely new name, we reckon it’ll only be a matter of time before the new NX500 makes its way here.

5) Yamaha PG-1

Yamaha PG-1

This is wishful thinking, we know, but this is a wish list, right? Honda simply doesn’t want to bring in its quirky small-displacement bikes like the Dax, Monkey, and Cub, but why should Yamaha follow suit? If anything, we’d love for the brand to take the risk and bring in the PG-1 to the Philippines. Who knows, maybe these manufacturers were completely missing out on this segment all these years.

6) KTM 990 Duke

KTM 990 Duke

There’s also a new 390 Duke that was unveiled this year, but we believe the bigger 990 Duke is the, well, bigger model of the two. KTM’s newest naked boasts more power than the 890 Duke R, a bike that was said to be even better than the 790 Duke, the Scalpel itself. But if the 890 Duke R is the ‘Super Scalpel,’ then what do we call the 990? Super... Super Scalpel? Ultimate Scalpel? We’re still accepting suggestions before the bike lands here. Assuming it will, of course.

7) BMW F900 GS, BMW F800 GS

If we’re being honest, we’re quite surprised BMW Motorrad Philippines launched the R1300 GS here first before the smaller adventure bikes. Maybe the demand for the ‘endgame’ ADVs was just too big to ignore that the brand just prioritized launching that one here. In any case, we’re expecting the small F900 GS and F800 GS to still make their way to our market nonetheless.

8) Honda CB750 Hornet

Honda CB750 Hornet

The Transalp was able to reach our market, so why can’t the CB750 Hornet? If anything, it’s now more ideal to bring in the Hornet since the XL750 derives its engine from this naked bike. That, and of course, we’d really like to see a new high-revving Honda ply our roads.

9-10) BMW R12 nineT, BMW R12

BMW R12 nineT

Okay, these are two similar bikes, but they also have a lot of differences, so they take up the last two spots on this list. The R12 nineT is the successor to the beloved R nineT—a personal favorite of mine—which is also a popular bike in our market, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed that it eventually makes its way here. If and when that happens, we’re hoping its cruiser sibling also tags along.

We can never have too many bikes in our market, people!
