Mazda is extending its CX-3 lineup in Japan to appeal to a wider range of customers.
The Japanese carmaker has just announced that its subcompact crossover will now be available with a smaller 1.5-liter SkyActiv-G engine alongside the 2.0-liter SkyActiv-G and 1.8-liter SkyActive-D mills. Only the 2.0-liter version (148hp and 195Nm of torque) is available in the Philippines.
This additional engine offering can be had on both the 2WD and AWD variants of the CX-3 and will be capable of up to 109hp at 6,000rpm and 144Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. Mazda also says the crossover will now be available with the brand’s new Polymetal Gray Metallic exterior finish.
Mazda has also taken the opportunity to share that it will be releasing a 100th Anniversary Special Edition of the vehicle in July 2020. This will come with niceties such as special 100th anniversary badging, burgundy floor carpets, red leather, a seven-seater Bose sound system, and a Snowflake White Pearl Mica paint job, among other additions. This variant will start with a ¥2,653,000 (around P1.24 million) price tag.
The new Mazda CX-3 with a 1.5-liter SkyActiv-G engine starts at ¥1,892,000 excluding taxes (around P890,000). Would you like Mazda Philippines to make this option available locally, or are you satisfied with what’s currently on offer?
