After launching the 6e sedan at the Bangkok International Motor Show in 2025, Mazda has introduced another fully electric model at BIMS 2026: the Mazda CX-6e.
Looks familiar? Yes, it’s the same car that debuted in China last year as the EX-60. It’s the result of a partnership between Mazda and Changan, and is based on the Deepal S07. On the surface, though, it bears no resemblance to its Chinese cousin. The carmaker says it “blends Mazda’s distinctive identity with advanced technology to meet the needs of modern customers.”

This rear-wheel-drive five-seat crossover gets a single electric motor that puts out 254hp and 290Nm of torque. The 77.9kWh battery has NEDC range of 524km, and can be fast-charged from 30% to 80% capacity in just 15 minutes. Weight distribution is an even 50:50 front and rear, while the suspension comprises front MacPherson struts and a rear multilink setup.

The exterior is based on the design theme ‘Soulful Futuristic Modern,’ and it manages to project a very Mazda appearance—elegant and purposeful, but with more modern elements befitting a fully electrified model. There are also exterior bits that aid aerodynamics, not least of which would be the sideview cameras in place of mirrors.

The unit on display at BIMS was locked, so our one photo of the cabin is lacking in quality. That center display that spans at least half the dashboard is a 26.45-inch 5K screen, supplemented on the driver’s side by a 2D virtual head-up display. Sound output is via a 23-inch audio setup.
For safety, the CX-6e is equipped with the Smart Drive suite of advanced driver-assist systems. These include smart brake support, rear collision warning, lane-keep assist, second collision warning, and a 360-degree see-through view monitor.
While Mazda Thailand already announced its pricing for the 6e, no price details have been provided so far for the CX-6e. Of these two electric models, which would you rather see first in the Philippine market?
