BYD Cars Philippines and ACMobility have set up shop at SM City Clark for the latest iteration of the BYD Tech Tour. Surprisingly, taking center stage is the BYD Atto 2 DM-i; we’ve seen the fully electric version at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show, but this plug-in hybrid configuration is something completely new.

Color us surprised and intrigued. BYD has yet to reveal the exact specifications of the Atto 2 DM-i, as this is the first time this model has been presented to the public. Interested customers can head to SM City Clark and visit the BYD Tech Tour, which will be running until Sunday, June 21, 2026.

Other new and familiar BYD models are also on display, and some of them are available for test drives. These include the fully electric Seagull and Sealion 7, along with the plug-in hybrid Sealion 6 DM-i, Seal 5 DM-i, and Tang DM-i vehicles.

For now, let’s get back to the Atto 2 DM-i. Indicative prices have also yet to be disclosed, but we can expect it to be yet another highly competitive offering from BYD. Compared to the Sealion 5 DM-i, it does appear to be smaller, with simpler styling and exterior features. With that, it could cost less than the Sealion 5’s P1.268 million sticker price.

We can also expect it to debut alongside its fully electric counterpart, which should also be accessibly priced. Currently, interest checks for the Atto 2 EV are open, and we should hear more concrete news about it soon.

Over the last couple of years, BYD has been relentless with its releases, and it is showing no signs of slowing down. At the time of writing, there are 14 models in its stable, and it looks like two more vehicles are joining in. Watch this space for the latest updates.
