The BYD Atto 3 is perhaps one of the models that helped the Chinese automaker regain its footing in the Philippines. The electric crossover has been a solid seller for the brand, mainly thanks to its reasonable pricing and battery range.

Known as the Yuan Plus in its home market, this model entered production in 2022. Three years later, it appears that it’s set to get a bit of a facelift for the 2025 model year.

Starting with the front end, there’s a new bumper design with smaller air intake lobes and a larger center intake. The corners have been smoothened out, likely for aerodynamic reasons. Its headlights and decorative grille are carried over from before.

At the back, the taillights get redesigned clusters. It features a similar treatment to the updated Dolphin with its LEDs featuring a crisscross design. The changes to the rear bumper mirror those on the front end courtesy of new trims, while the rear spoiler sports a new third brake light.

Surprisingly, BYD went to great lengths to redesign the windows. The soon-to-be-outgoing model came with a floating rear pillar and a raked third window. For the 2025 model year, that’s been removed in favor of a more conventional design with larger third window openings. New wheel designs are also part of the 2025 changes.

For now, it’s unknown what the interior changes will be like. We’re expecting a few tweaks here and there, likely for the trim. Infotainment updates are also possible, as well as for the advanced driver-assist systems.

Documents from the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) have also confirmed that the facelifted Atto 3 will retain the same powertrain and battery sizes. That means there are two battery options available, both of which use BYD Blade technology. The sizes are 50.25kWh and 60.48kWh. Regardless of battery size, the powertrain’s maximum output is rated at 201hp and 310Nm of torque.

We should get word soon enough if this updated model will make it to the local market. Would you like to see these changes on PH-spec units?
