You’ve seen the news. You’ve seen some photos. Now, it’s officially launched in the Philippines. Yes folks, the Ford Bronco has landed.
Officially, at least, it’s the first time the Bronco will be offered in the country. The Bronco’s history spans nearly 60 years, as it was first launched in 1965 for the 1966 model year. Designed as an off-roader from the start, the all-new version continues that tradition.

For the Philippines, the Ford Bronco is offered in one body style with the five-door model. We’re glad to report that the variant we get is the mid-spec Outer Banks model. On top of that, the Philippine-market also benefits from the Sasquatch Package. Thanks to the latter, this SUV is equipped with off-road goodies from the factory.
For starters, it has something called HOSS, short for High-performance Off-road Stability Suspension. The Bilstein dampers in Outer Banks is designed to handle high-speed off-road driving, as well as trails. Hardcore off-roaders will appreciate the fact that it comes with locking differentials for the rear and the front. Its wide 17-inch wheels can be mounted with beadlock tires and shod in mud terrain tires. For those who are curious, ground clearance is rated at 292mm with a wading depth capability of 850mm.

One interesting feature of the Bronco is its detachable panels. Its doors can be removed, and so can the roof in sections. The Outer Banks model comes with chunky fender flare extensions, LED headlights, and the word Bronco proudly displayed on the grille.
While the exterior is a tribute to the first-gen, the interior is a nod to the second-generation model produced from 1977 to 1980. Its angled dash top and flat fascia connects the past and present models. All in all, the theme is boxy and angular, mixing aesthetic with utility. Of course, there are modern touches in here, namely with the digital instrument cluster and the large infotainment screen that dominates the center stack.
Noteworthy interior features include a 220V power outlet, power seats, wireless charging, and rubber mats for easy hose-down cleaning after a day of off-roading. It also comes equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system.
Advanced driver assistance systems are standard in the local-spec Bronco. It includes the usual features such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, 360-degree cameras, and even evasive steer assist, to name a few.
Under the hood is Ford’s 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine. No four-cylinder here, folks, as this twin-turbocharged six-cylinder doles out 330hp and 555Nm of torque. Mated to a ten-speed automatic transmission, it comes with a variety of off-road modes dubbed G.O.A.T. It’s short for Goes Over Any Terrain.
Available in six colors, the Ford Bronco retails for P4,998,000. What do you guys think of this one?
