Ford Philippines has just unveiled its first two electrified vehicles: The 2026 Territory Hybrid and the all-new Mustang Mach-E. And right after the new vehicles were presented, questions about the plug-in hybrid version of the Ranger pickup were almost immediately brought up.
The Ranger is one of the most recognized Blue Oval badges in the Philippines, and its PHEV version has been making noise in Australia. It’s no surprise that people are eager to find out whether or not the electrified truck will eventually make its way to our market.

Ford Philippines national sales and marketing director, Ryan Lorenzo, commented that the Ranger PHEV will enter the country “at the right time,” while the company continues to listen to the market and its customers.

While that does sound rather vague, a lot of stars may need to align for the right time to come around. For starters, the Ranger PHEV is built in South Africa, and the Philippines gets its Ford vehicles from the brand’s plant in Thailand. Importing directly from South Africa will surely jack up the cost of what should be a rather affordable pickup.
If brought here, its direct competitor would be the BYD Shark DMO, which is already decently priced as it starts at P2.098 million. Actual driving range and performance will remain key components, but price and availability may determine whether or not the Ranger PHEV succeeds in the Philippines.
