After appearing on the Department of Energy’s (DOE) list of recognized electric vehicles in May, the Ford Territory Platinum Hybrid has now been approved by the Land Transportation Office (LTO). The agency recently published homologation papers for the crossover, further hinting at a Philippine release.

For the uninitiated, the Platinum Hybrid is set to take over as the top-of-the-line variant in Ford’s Territory stable. Power output and performance should remain the same, but more premium styling and finishes are expected to elevate its overall experience.

According to the LTO, a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine is still on deck, with the electric motor capable of a familiar 215hp. With that, we can expect it to produce 315Nm of torque and return about 19.6km/L in mixed driving conditions.

Notably, the listed dimensions are similar to those of the currently available Territory Titanium X. This suggests that the new claddings and garnishes won’t add any additional heft to the Platinum Hybrid’s overall frame.

Based on the DOE’s database, the new Territory is set to get new bumpers on the front and rear, along with a refreshed design on its 19-inch wheels. The roof was also highlighted, which indicates a specific change as well.

Are you looking forward to a refreshed Territory Hybrid? The crossover has been on the market for almost 12 months, and it is surprising to see a new version this soon. If Ford Philippines is indeed launching an updated crossover, it may be trying to stay ahead of the curve. So far in 2026, the Toyota Corolla Cross GR-S has received a facelift while the Kia Sportage is set to return with a hybrid powertrain soon.
