GAC International Philippines recently announced a trio of MPVs launching before the end of July, and the all-new GAC GN6 serves as the entry-level offering in this lineup. It now features a new look inspired by the more upscale E8 HEV and GN8 PHEV Executive, while still keeping a very competitive sticker price. More on that later.
The all-new GN6 measures 4,792mm long, 1,837mm wide, and 1,750mm tall, which places it along the likes of the Toyota Zenix and the MG G50. These people movers feature captain seats in the second row, which the GN6 also has. In fact, the previous generation already had them equipped around five years ago, giving GAC some bragging points for being ahead of the curve here.
You might have noticed that the center aisle is open in the second row, as opposed to having a console for cupholders and storage. This is an intentional move on the Chinese automaker’s part to prioritize flexibility and ease of movement.

It should also be noted that this is an ICE-only vehicle. Under the hood, the GN6 is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated at 174hp and 270Nm of torque. The engine is then mated to a seven-speed wet-type dual-clutch transmission. GAC quotes an NEDC fuel-efficiency figure of approximately 15.4km/L.
How much should a decently-sized, non-electrified MPV sticker for? GAC’s asking price for the GN6 is P1,298,000. The special introductory discount of P100,000 off knocks that down to P1,198,000 until the end of August. This price point undercuts not just its contemporaries, but also other smaller MPVs, especially with that special offer.
