Among the sea of high-tech and ultra-luxurious models on display at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show, a relatively humble crossover might be one of the more significant vehicles in attendance. I’m talking about the Geely EX2: the fully electric subcompact crossover that happens to be last year’s best-selling car in the Chinese market.

Well, how many units did this unassuming car shift? The official number sits at 465,775 units sold throughout 2025. For context, in the same time frame, the entire Philippine market sold around as many cars back in 2024 (and just slightly more in the following year).

The Geely EX2 measures in at 4,135mm long, 1,805mm wide, and 1,580mm tall. To help you visualize its scale, those figures are pretty similar to the Kia Sonet and Toyota Raize—very popular models in the Philippines, and also bestsellers in the subcompact crossover segment. Storage space is also good for the class at 70 liters in the frunk and 375 liters in the boot.

Those cars, however, are combustion-only. The EX2 is the polar opposite: pure electric. It has a single motor—rated at 114hp and 150Nm of torque—driving the rear wheels. It can also do either 310 or 410 kilometers of cruising range depending on which battery it’s configured with.

We know it sold like hotcakes last year in its home country, but how will it fare in the Philippine market? Only time will tell as we wait for Geely to officially bring in the EX2 for sale. With the brand planning to launch five vehicles this year (the EX5 EM-I plug-in hybrid among them), it’s likely just a matter of time before we officially get more details.
