The latest Manthey-equipped Porsche 911 GT3 can lap the ’Ring in 6min 52.981sec

Or almost 3sec faster than the previous-gen 992.1 with Manthey bits

Listen up, hotshoes: The latest 992.2 Porsche 911 GT3 will now lap the Nürburgring even quicker thanks to a new Manthey kit, which shaves nearly 3sec off its time compared with the previous Manthey-tweaked GT3.

Yep, in the hands of reigning DTM champion Ayhancan Güven, this new 992.2 recorded a time of 6min 52.981sec—or 2.76sec faster than the previous-generation 992.1 with Manthey bits. And that, we’re told, was in “less than ideal conditions.” Brave man.

So, to the kit itself. It comprises a front lip that’s been extended by 12mm, diffuser fins front and rear, side flaps, carbon fibre wheel covers, and a wider swan-neck wing complete with gurney flap and enlarged inward curved endplates. We love inward curved endplates.

That’s what you can see. What you can’t see are the modifications to the underbody, including air deflectors now measuring 1.5 meters (up a whole meter), plus a cover under the luggage compartment to create a completely flat floor. The result? At 285kph, up to 285kg of downforce in Road mode...and up to 540kg in Circuit mode.

Of course, all this means it would have been remiss of Manthey not to adjust the suspension. So, the kit also adds four-stage adjustable coilovers, with a 10% stiffer spring rate on the front axle versus its predecessor. All in the details, see.

Braided steel brake lines—for “guaranteed price pressure and optimum brake control”—are also included. At the same time, special racing pads and lightweight 20- and 21-inch forged wheels are optional, reducing the unsprung mass by a total of 6kg compared to standard.

As ever, further personalization is available courtesy of carbon-fiber outlets and intakes, door-sill trims, and LED door projectors with Manthey lettering, plus the choice of various colored carbon brake discs and tow straps. Which, with any luck, you’ll never need to use.
