While Mazda is busy keeping the combustion engine alive, the folks from Hiroshima are also aware that they have to still have to sell pure electric vehicles. Currently, there’s the MX-30 that eventually gained a plug-in hybrid version, and the 6e, also known as the EZ6 or Deepal L07.
It’s no secret that Mazda has been having some assistance from Changan when it comes to its full EVs. With a company as lean as it is, joint ventures on projects like these are a must.

That brings us neatly to the second Mazda-Changan collab. Meet the EZ-60, and it will also be known as the CX-6e. Wordplay on the CX-60 aside, the EZ-60/CX-6e is based on the Deepal S07. But instead of slightly changing the front and rear ends of the Changan version, the Mazda gets a significantly different look.
Of course, the exterior follows Mazda’s current design language, and the rear pillar arrangement is actually an aerodynamic enhancement. The glass tapers in while the sheetmetal stays flat, creating an air channel in between.

Unfortunately, there are no interior photos just yet. That said, we’re expecting it to be similar to the Changan-Deepal model it’s based on. That means massive screens in the middle with a driver oriented layout.
Powertrain specifications are also unknown at this point. But based on the Deepal S07, there could be two battery options, namely, 66.8kWh or 79.97kWh. As for power output, it ranges from 218hp to 258hp.
Full details of the Mazda EZ-60 will be released soon.
