The Nissan Navara is due for all-new model and it’s just around the corner. It’s no secret that it will use the same platform as the current Mitsubishi Triton, but Nissan insists that the next-generation Navara will have its own personality.
But while we wait for that, the current model soldiers on. It’s already over a decade old now, but it still has to hang on a little longer. To keep interest up, there’s a new variant for it called the X-Tremer. It’s been launched in Malaysia, and it might be a good fit in the Philippine lineup.
The Nissan Navara X-Tremer is a cosmetic package that can be added to other variants of the pickup. It comes with a host of exterior and interior tweaks and can be added to the V (equivalent of the VE in the Philippines), VL, and Pro-4X models.

For the exterior, any variant that’s optioned with this package gets a new bumper with an X pattern on the fascia along with more prominent fender flares. Carbon-effect trims are also part of the deal, and the rear bumper is finished in black chrome.

Hop inside and it might look like any other Navara variant that’s already available. But going for the X-Tremer package means the seats are upgraded from leatherette to stain-resistant fabric called Quole Modure.
The rest of the pickup is mechanically unchanged from the rest of the Navara lineup. That means the familiar 2.5-liter turbodiesel still puts out 189hp and 450Nm. 4x4 models retain the electronic rear-differential lock, and all variants shift with a seven-speed automatic. Advanced driver assists are available, but adaptive cruise control is a noticeable omission.
Think of this then as something similar to the Ford Ranger Sport Limited Edition. The X-Tremer enhances a trim level and not an entirely different variant altogether. Well, anything to keep the current-get going before the all-new model comes in.
