Nissan might not be in the best of finances, but the company has promised an onslaught of new and redesigned models in the coming years. If you recall, several models were teased, but none were named just yet.
But as we were browsing through the World Intellectual Property Organization’s design database, we stumbled upon a rather curious-looking model. We’re pretty sure it’s not out in the market yet, so this might be an all-new Nissan sedan.

The design patent we stumbled upon was filed in China and published fairly recently. It was entered on September 14, 2025 and registered on May 9, 2025. So, what could it be?

If anything, the patent images line up well with one of the sedans shown back in April. From the shape of the headlights to the flared rear quarter panel, it all seems to fit together. The six-window arrangement further makes us think that we’re looking at the patent of the car teased from a few months back.

The question now is this: is this the next-gen Sentra or Altima? It’s hard to tell at this point as drawings don’t necessarily show the true scale of the actual product. In our eyes at least, it either looks too long to be a Sentra, but too short to be an Altima. The general shape of the car makes it look like an executive sedan, but that that might be Nissan simply moving its compact sedan upmarket.
