Nissan Philippines (NPI) is going all in this year at the Philippine International Motor Show. It’s brought in and previewed three important new models that will grace its lineup: the Magnite, the X-Trail, and the all-new Patrol.

Nissan Magnite

The Magnite is a subcompact crossover that will go up against the likes of the Toyota Raize and the Kia Sonet. It’s an entry into what is turning into a lucrative segment for a lot of carmakers, and NPI wants a piece of that pie.

Globally, the Magnite just received a facelift, but it looks like what we might be getting is the pre-facelift version. It could come powered by a turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine producing 99hp and 160Nm and mated to a continuously variable transmission.

After a two-year absence, the X-Trail has made its return to Philippine soil, albeit through this PIMS preview. NPI didn’t share any specifics, but it did confirm that the X-Trail will get an e-Power engine under its hood. This will go up against the Honda CR-V and the Toyota RAV4, so it’s only fitting that it gets an electrified powertrain.

Okay, so we know a lot of people have been waiting for this, well, let us be the ones to tell you that...it’s still not here. And the reason we didn’t put this in the headline is simply because the Patrol deserves its own article. So to read more on that, click on these blue words.
