Jacky Ickx is a six-time Le Mans winner, with four of those victories coming in Porsche colors between 1976 and 1982. That means the folks at Weissach are rather fond of him and motorsport-loving Belgians are equally as proud of him.
So, to celebrate his 75th birthday, Porsche’s ‘Exclusive Manufaktur’ division has teamed up with Belgian importer D’Ieteren to create this—the 911 Carrera 4S Belgian Legend Edition. This is a big moment, too, because it’s the first time we’ve seen a special edition version of the new 992 generation.
As you can see, there’s much blue going on. That’s because the Legend Edition has been designed to emulate Ickx’s trademark blue-and-white helmet. Even the wheels have been given the treatment.
There are also the obligatory special-edition badges plastered wherever you look. In this case, it’s mainly Ickx’s signature, which you’ll find on the driver’s-side B-pillar, the central armrest, and even the key fob.
The rest of the cabin is fairly minimalist. There’s black leather all around, some gray stitching to match, and a Belgian Legend Edition sill guard. There’ve been no changes under the skin, though, so it’s 450hp from the 3.0-liter flat-six turbo and four-wheel drive.
Just 75 Ickx editions will be built, but they’ll only be sold in Belgium. So, what do you think? And what do you think the next special edition will celebrate? The floodgates may just have been propped open.
