The Toyota Fortuner isn’t exactly the youngest truck-based midsize SUV in the market right now. That said, there is an all-new model expected to arrive around 2025. Still, that didn’t stop the company from giving it a few tweaks before the full model change.
Toyota Motor Philippines has quietly rolled out the ‘new’ Fortuner for 2024. One variant gets a major upgrade while select variants gain tech features standard.

For the 2024 model year, it’s the Q model that gets the attention. It now sports the LTD face to give it a sportier look. There are no official photos of the updated Q just yet, but it’s possible that it might come with new wheels as well. So for those who like the LTD variant’s look but don’t like the two-tone roof, this could be the model for you.
It’s worth pointing out that it’s only the Q that gets the LTD’s front end. The entry-level G and the V that sits just above base retain the familiar look. The G is carried over from before but the V gains niceties such as an updated touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, and a 360-degree view camera. All Fortuners for the 2024 model year come with a Data Communication Module that allows it to connect to the MyToyota Connect app.
As this is a minor model change, the engine and drivetrain are the same as before. The G and the V use the 2.4-liter turbodiesel that makes 148hp and 400Nm of torque. The Q, LTD, and GR-S meanwhile carry on with the 2.8-liter, still making 201hp and 500Nm of torque. Of course, we’d love to see the uprated version of the same engine make its way to the GR-S variant as it packs 221hp and 550Nm of torque over in Thailand.
