There’s something big brewing over in Thailand. Reports from over there have stated that the next-generation Toyota Hilux will make its world premiere very soon. How soon, you ask? It could be as early as November 2025.

If true, it’s a huge bit of information as the current Hilux is a decade old now. Save for the Nissan Navara, all of the Hilux’s rivals have been given a full model change this decade.

The initial report came from Car250, a Thai automotive website. The publication reckons that the redesigned pickup will make its debut during the Thai Motor Expo. It will be held from November 28 to December 10, 2025. Not too long of a wait, then.

Perhaps there is substance behind Car250’s claim. After all, the next-gen Toyota Hilux has been spied several time in the past couple of months. At the same time, alleged patent photos of the pickup have surfaced online. If anything, it’s a promising indicator of its impending launch.

Of course, technical specifications are unknown at the moment. That said, there’s a strong chance that the powertrain options will be carried over from the outgoing model. That means either a 2.4-liter turbodiesel or 2.8-liter turbodiesel. Mild-hybrid power could be offered in select markets, particularly over in Europe.

There are also reports of a plug-in hybrid model that could join the range down the line. We reckon that’s a good move (if true) as the Ford Ranger has a plug-in hybrid, and let’s not forget the BYD Shark 6 DM-o. The V6 engine offered in limited markets could also be related by a turbocharged 2.0-liter mill.

Should the supposed target date of the world premiere be as reported, it will be a huge deal in the pickup world. So, anyone willing to wait a little longer for this?
