Believe it or not, the current generation of the Toyota RAV4 is already seven years old. Perhaps it was the global lockdown from five years ago, but this model feels like it hasn’t been around for too long. Still, it’s now time for an all-new generation given that most of its competitors have been redesigned.
Toyota has responded by giving a teaser of the next-generation RAV4. It’s crucial that gets this one spot on, too. After all, it is, quite literally, the world’s best-selling Toyota model.

Mind you, it won’t be coming out to global markets immediately. While production will start this year, it’s slated for 2026. Still, at least we’ll know what to expect once it lands in local showrooms.

Toyota isn’t giving away all details, of course. For now, all we’re getting a set of bird’s eye view exterior shots and a pretty good view of its dashboard. We’re more excited for the latter, if we’re being honest.
The top view won’t tell us much about the 2026 Toyota RAV4’s exterior design. Try as we might, it’s difficult to see any hard details, but we do see a tiny bit of the headlights, and it’s safe to assume that it will be larger than its predecessor. We also spotted what appears to be a panoramic glass roof for select variants.

At least the driver’s side of the interior is more visible. It’s actually nice to see that it still has a shroud for the digital instrument cluster. That means there’s no giant screens tacked on to the dash like what many automakers do these days. We also see a new steering wheel design, as well as a large’ floating’ display for the infotainment system.
It has been largely confirmed that the sixth-generation Toyota RAV4 will be hybrid-only moving forward. Based on that, we’re likely to see a standard hybrid powertrain and an optional plug-in hybrid system. We could see the familiar setup that pairs a 2.5-liter Atkinson Cycle engine with either one or two electric motors. We might be seeing over 220hp for the standard hybrid and more than 300hp for the plug-in hybrid.
