By now, you’ve probably heard that the Toyota Supra will be no more after 2025. Officially known as the GR Supra, it was introduced in 2019, snapping a 17-year hiatus. Made in collaboration with BMW, this year marks the end of six-year production run of the revived model.
It was a good run while it lasted, and it seems that Toyota Motor Philippines wants to send off the model with a bang. Finally, nearly three years after the updated and more powerful version made its premiere, the local market gets that as well. Better late than never, we suppose.

For the longest time, the Philippine-market Toyota Supra came with a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six that made 335hp and 500Nm. It’s not slow by any means, but we were always jealous of the fact that our neighbors got the more powerful tune.
With the 2025 model year, that power has risen to 382hp. We’re finally aligned with the rest of the world. That said, torque is retained at 500Nm, not that we’re complaining. Per the manufacturer, it knocks back the 0 to 100kph time from 4.1 seconds to just 3.9 seconds. There’s no mention of a six-speed manual option, so the lone choice here is an eight-speed automatic.

Aside from the power upgrades, the new Supra also gets chassis tweaks. In includes extra stiffening at the front, a new set of springs and dampers, along with new tuning for the steering and differential. That should help shave off an extra couple of tenths on the track.
That’s great and all, but it would be interesting to see if Toyota Philippines brings in the true final edition. The Toyota Supra Final Edition gets an uprated version of that same inline-six engine. It kicks the power up to 429hp and 569Nm, which should satisfy most folks. It’s also lightened, strengthened, and comes with a host of suspension upgrades to go along with it, as well as a neat carbon fiber wing at the back.

We’re not expecting the Final Edition to ever come here, but maybe, just maybe, there’s a glimmer of hope for it.
