Toyota’s first wave of SEMA builds features one Tacoma, three Supras

We can’t wait to see what the carmaker has in store for us next

This year’s SEMA show—or the SEMA360, rather—is well underway, and we’re seeing quite a few interesting builds already.

Frankly, we still wish we could’ve gone to an actual event to see everything up close because the cars look pretty wild. Take these four Toyotas. That’s one heavily modded Tacoma and a trio of dressed-up Supras that we’d like to see in the metal.

The truck in the photo is an ‘Overland-Ready Tacoma’ that’s designed by the 4WD Toyota Owner Magazine editors and is the real definition of an outdoor-oriented, go-anywhere pickup. It’s based on a Tacoma with a TRD Off-Road premium package, and is fitted with a Magnuson Superchargers Roots-type blower. It’s capable of both crawling through tricky terrain and hauling a bunch of cargo.

For the Supras, the first of the three is the Ornamental GR Supra. It features hand-painted letterform and graphics by British artist Nicolai Slater, an art director at Los Angeles-based creative agency Race Service.

The second is GReddy Performance and Ken Gushi Motorsports’ Formula D GR Supra. It’s a drift-ready sports car that’s supposedly efficient, simple, and impactful. Ken Gushi, one of the masterminds behind the build, is a racer who is currently driving the #21 GR Supra in the 2020 Formula Drift Pro class.

Third is the Papadakis Racing Rockstar Energy Drink GR Supra, a 1,033hp drifting machine. Like the second Supra, this one is also competing in the 2020 Formula Drift Pro class and is currently in contention for the championship. Manning the wheel is former drift champion Fredric Aasbo.

These are supposedly just from the first wave from Toyota, so we’re expecting to see even more outrageous designs from the Japanese carmaker in the coming days. What say you? Are you as excited as we are?
