You’re probably aware that the Hyundai N brand is already in the country, but you can’t go to just any Hyundai showroom to check out or ask about the Ioniq 5 N or the Elantra N. Instead, the Korean carmaker has named four N dealerships in the Philippines—all in Metro Manila for now.
Hyundai Alabang, Hyundai Commonwealth Avenue, Hyundai Makati, and Hyundai Pasig are the official outlets carrying the N models. Lucky you if you live near these dealerships—you might catch a glimpse of the brand’s high-performance cars whenever you pass by.

The ceremonial signing was held last month, attended by Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) and N dealer executives. “We have been getting asked as to why we are already bringing in N,” said Cecil Capacete, managing director of HMPH. “Well, one reason is it supports us, Hyundai, as a brand to become more competitive, leveraging on our global heritage and accomplishments to set ourselves apart in the market.

Based on the Ioniq 5 compact crossover, the fully-electric the Ioniq 5 N is more hot hatch in character and serves as a road-going representation of what Hyundai has learned so far from its motorsports activities. The dual-motor system generates up to 641hp via N Grin Boost, but the non-boosted 600hp output is nothing to sneeze at, either. You’d be most familiar with its Performance Blue paint job, but it’s also available in Atlas White, Abyss Black Pearl, and Cyber Gray Metallic.
Locally, the Ioniq 5 N is priced at P4,250,000. Here’s our first drive of the car in Spain:

Meanwhile, the Elantra N, priced at P2,738,000, is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that generates 276hp and 392Nm or torque, allowing it to do the 0-100 sprint in 5.3sec with the help of N Launch Control. It’s also available in the same color options as its electric N sibling.
It’s of course the closest competitor to the Honda Civic Type R on the local market. Can it beat the FL5? That’s a question we will answer for you very soon.
