After mutually developing two electric vehicles (EVs), Toyota and Subaru will be releasing a third electric SUV slated for 2026 in Japan, Europe, and North America.
Coming off the success of the Toyota bZ4X and Subaru Solterra in 2022, the two Japanese brands are prompted to collaborate once more to lower production costs and speed up manufacturing time. To accomplish these goals, the new EV will be using parts from the bZ4X.

Production is scheduled to begin in January 2026 at the Subaru Yajima Plant with 15,000 to 20,000 vehicles expected to be produced each month. This also furthers Subaru’s goal of selling 300,000 EVs per year by 2030.

In May 2024, Subaru announced that it and Toyota would continue this partnership to a total of four vehicles by the end of 2026. The supposed fourth and final vehicle has yet to be announced. There is also no word on whether or not this new EV will enter Asian markets outside of Japan, so we can’t say for now if it’ll arrive in the Philippines. For reference, only the bZ4X has been confirmed to land in our market so far.
