Toyota Motor Philippines has issued a recall for units of the Urban Cruiser, citing issues with the EV’s instrument panel. As the issue is not a critical defect that could affect the safety of users, the automaker classified the recall as a Customer Satisfaction Campaign.
According to Toyota, a glitch in the instrument panel’s software causes incorrect calculation of the Urban Cruiser’s average power consumption. As a result, the display reports that the car is less efficient than it actually is.

A total of 17 units, produced from November 27, 2025 to April 11, 2026, are being recalled. Toyota has invited the owners to visit their nearest Toyota service center to have their instrument panels reprogrammed free of charge. The reprogramming may also be performed during PMS if the EV is due for an appointment soon.
Urban Cruiser owners can also confirm if their unit is affected by the recall by entering their 17-character VIN on Toyota’s service campaign website.
