Talks about the no-contact apprehension program (NCAP) have been going around ever since the Department of Transportation floated the idea of bringing it back in light of recent major road incidents. Well, it looks like it’s finally happening.
Reports have just come in that the Supreme Court has now lifted the Temporary Restraining Order on NCAP. While more details have yet to be shared, this is already confirmation enough that the Land Transportation Office and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority will be back to implementing NCAP soon in the capital.

There have been a lot of back-and-forth discussions regarding the NCAP since its inception. The program was first suspended back in August 2022, and since then, the MMDA has lobbied to bring it back. Various authorities and politicians alike have also expressed support for the return of NCAP on multiple occasions over the years. Now, it’s officially making a comeback.
