Pump prices continue to rise (although we’re thankful for recent rollbacks), which is why more than ever, car buyers are starting to look for the most practical and fuel-efficient options available before they pull the trigger on a brand-new car.
So for our latest real-world fuel-consumption test, we chose one of the biggest hitters from the popular subcompact sedan segment: the Honda City. Specifically for this one, we drove the top-of-the-line Ciy 1.5 RS CVT that stickers for P1,115,000.

In this test, we drove the sedan for a total of five days through a mix of open highways and congested city streets. After 380.9km of driving, the car consumed a total of 26.745L of gas. Dividing the distance traveled by the amount of fuel spent, then we’re left with an actual fuel-consumption figure of 14.2km/L.
Do you think this is efficient enough for a car this size at this price point? Tell us in the comments. And for a more detailed view of just how exactly our test went, you can click play on the embedded video below.
