You might be wondering: What’s the ruckus surrounding a new plug-in hybrid electric vehicle all about? New ones get announced almost every month, right? Well, this isn’t just another plug-in hybrid. It’s the first hybrid production car from Ferrari, the carmaker that’s churned out a lot of incredibly fast, V12-powered machines over the years.
So just how good of a car is it, then? Well, let’s skip the aesthetics and head straight to performance. Just like the Ferraris that came before it, the SF90 is incredibly fast. Like 0-100kph in 2.5sec fast. With 986hp on tap, the SF90 Stradale is actually the fastest and most powerful road car that Ferrari has ever built.
Now, if you need proof, then get this: In the very first episode of the new Top Gear series 29, The Stig himself took the SF90 onto the Top Gear test track and set a new lap record. It’s now the fastest vehicle around the famous course, beating the Ferrari 488 Pista’s existing record from series 27. If that doesn’t convince you that this is, in fact, a fast supercar, we don’t know what will.
