The 2027 GAC GN8 PHEV Executive was officially launched alongside the GN6 and the E8 HEV. It’s the more premium model of the three seven-seater multipurpose vehicles, and looks to compete with the likes of the Toyota Alphard and the Denza D9.
While this is technically the GN8 PHEV’s debut in the country, those familiar with GAC will associate it with the M8, its older non-hybrid counterpart. Both are based on the same platform, but as you can tell from the name, the GN8 PHEV ditches the turbocharged gasoline engine and eight-speed transmission in the M8 for a plug-in hybrid powertrain.
That said, the audience remains the same. Made for business owners, executives, VIPs, and families, this new seven-seater offers premium features expected of a luxury MPV but in a more fuel-efficient package. Without further ado, here’s everything you need to know about the 2027 GN8 PHEV Executive.
Variants and prices of the GAC GN8 PHEV Executive 2027
The M8 was priced a hair under P3 million for the base variant and just below P4 million for the top-of-the-line spec. The GN8 PHEV Executive meets the M8’s price range in the middle with a single variant stickering for P3,488,000.
However, until August 31, 2026, GAC is offering the luxury MPV at an introductory price of P3,338,000.

Exterior of the GAC GN8 PHEV Executive 2027
Styling on the GN8 PHEV is undeniably executive. It has a strong road presence with 18-inch wheels finished in black and polished silver, a large grille with chrome slats, and matte silver paint on the front lip, the side skirts, and the rear valance.
Large LED lights outline the top corners of the front fascia in a boomerang-like shape and feature a follow-me-home function. At the rear, a wide LED lightbar goes across the tailgate before swooping down to complete the taillight assembly. Chrome accents also outline the MPV’s silhouette, connecting from the A- and D-pillars.
As for dimensions, this is also the largest of the three MPVs the Chinese manufacturer has launched recently, measuring 5,247mm long, 1,893mm wide, and 1,823mm tall, with a 3,070mm wheelbase. The GN8 PHEV is available in Blade Shadow White, Temple Gold, and Elegant Black exterior colors.
Other exterior features include soundproof windows, an automatic tailgate, and power-folding side mirrors.

Open the automatic sliding doors, and you’ll be greeted by two captain seats in the middle row. These seats feature power adjustment, retractable leg rests, ventilation, heating, and a massage function—all controlled through the touchscreens located on the center armrests. Middle-row occupants can also use the tray tables located behind the driver and front passenger seat.
Speaking of the front, the dashboard features a 14.6-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and its own navigation. There’s also a 12.3-inch instrument panel, a wireless smartphone charger, USB-A and USB-C ports, and cupholders with heating and cooling.
The third row features a 60:40 split and can fold flat to expand the rear cargo space. No ‘Tea Break Mode’ here, unfortunately. Looking up, there’s a large panoramic roof as well as a drop-down screen to access infotainment. The cabin is spec’d with a Yamaha 16-speaker audio system and multi-color intelligent ambient lights. Meanwhile, the A/C system features tri-zone cooling to ensure passengers in the third row aren’t treated like an afterthought.
Powertrain specs of the GAC GN8 PHEV Executive 2027
The GN8 PHEV has a 2.0-liter turbocharged Miller-cycle gasoline engine paired with a permanent-magnet synchronous motor. Together, they deliver 373hp and 630Nm of torque to the front wheels.
Underneath is a 25.5kWh battery that helps the seven-seater achieve a combined range of 1,038km, with full EV mode achieving 120km. The GN8 PHEV has three drive modes (Eco, Comfort, and Sport) and three energy modes (Intelligent Electric Hybrid, Pure Electric Priority, and Power Reserve Priority) that affect how the vehicle drives and consumes fuel and energy.
As for charging, the battery can go from 30% to 80% in 45 minutes with a DC fast charger. With standard AC charging, the battery takes around seven hours to top up. The fuel tank capacity is listed at 56 liters.
Extra features of the GAC GN8 PHEV Executive 2027
The GN8 PHEV comes equipped with ADiGO Smart Drive, which includes a surround-view camera, active vehicle dynamic control, hill-descent control, automatic parking assist, autonomous emergency braking, front-collision warning, tire-pressure monitoring, and adaptive cruise control.
Other safety features include dual front airbags, side airbags, side-curtain airbags, and rear-windscreen airbags. There are also Isofix child-safety anchors in the second and third rows. Lastly, like most modern plug-in hybrids, the GN8 PHEV doesn’t have a spare tire but a tire repair kit in the back.
