We first laid eyes on the all-new Land Rover Defender last year, and in December, Coventry Motors Corporation, the official distributor of Jaguar, Land Rover, and Range Rover in the Philippines, announced that the iconic adventure vehicle would be making its way to the Philippines.
It might have taken a while, but now we’re finally able to see the all-new Land Rover in the metal. The model is equipped with a 3.0-liter six-cylinder turbopetrol engine that puts out 395hp between 5,500-6,500rpm, and 550Nm of torque at 2,000rpm. The Defender also has a 48V electric motor, making it a mild hybrid. It boasts a maximum payload of up to 900kg and a towing capacity of 3,500kg.
Interested buyers will have five variants to choose from, with prices starting at P6,310,000. The top-of-the-line Defender 110 First Edition will set you back P9,390,000—almost a steal compared with our neighbor Singapore’s prices.
If you’re like us and you’ve been itching to get behind the wheel of the Defender and go on an adventure, we’ll sadly have to wait for better days ahead. For now, click the play button above for a more detailed look at this SUV.
