Ford Lego set

It’s always a treat to come across a Lego set that allows one to build a scale model of a favorite cityscape, landmark, or even a car. We fondly recall the almost life-size models of the Volvo XC90 and the Ford Explorer that were put together to show just how cool our favorite childhood toy could be.

Well, that notion is once again reinforced with Lego’s latest offering: the Ford F-150 Raptor and Mustang GT Speed Champions sets. Children ages seven and up (we reckon this includes us not-so-young kids) will be thrilled at the sight of the 185-piece Mustang GT model car coming to modular life. The Lego pony car even comes with a time board and a race driver, making for the ultimate playtime motorsport experience.

Those who love the larger-than-life F-150 Raptor, meanwhile, will likewise have a blast putting together its equivalent Lego set. Sure, it may have 664 pieces to make your head spin just figuring out how to put them together, but we all know that the beauty of this toy is the satisfaction it gives once you’ve completed the project. And this one even includes a drag-race Christmas tree, a speed-garage trailer, a Model A hot rod, and your very own Ford pit crew.

If you’re lucky enough to get both the Mustang GT and the F-150 Raptor, you can very well live out your racing fantasies--from the garage all the way to the racetrack.

The Mustang GT set retails for $14.99 (P700), while the F-150 Raptor set goes for $49.99 (P2,335). Now, all we need is a lot of free time and a quiet place to do this. We’ll take one of each, please?
