Need more reasons why you should own an electric vehicle like the Nissan Leaf? Here’s one: It can be used to power kitchen equipment.
This is possible through the Leaf’s vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, something that Nissan Philippines (NPI) showcased during one of its media events in 2021. And in this latest demonstration, NPI collaborated with Filipino celebrity chef Rob Pengson to cook full meals for the carmaker’s guests during the launch of its Blue Switch initiative.
NPI aims to help address concerns such as disaster response and energy management through its Blue Switch initiative. Coincidentally, this demo of the Leaf being used to power cooking devices shows us how the vehicle can prove useful during a power outage, or even simply when a household’s LPG supply unexpectedly runs out.
