That’s one good-looking subcompact sedan right there.
It sure is. Nissan has taken the Almera’s design to new heights with this all-new model, and it’s become one of the more handsome offerings in its segment right now.
Care to run us through what’s new with this one?
Very well, but there’s a bit to take in. Nissan has modernized the look of the all-new Almera with a new V-Motion grille that tapers downward almost seamlessly to the air intakes underneath. This center portion is flanked by slimmer and sportier headlamps and bigger foglamps. There appear to be more black plastics up front, but overall, this end looks better than it did before.
What about the rear?
The stylish appeal of the front fascia is carried over to this end, with new taillights and a bulkier rear bumper. The chrome strip on the trunk has been completely removed as well, which we think is the right call.
Anything else I should note about the exterior?
Good that you asked. Some of the photos of the all-new Almera that you see here are of the top-of-the-line N-Sport variant. This gets additional gloss-black plastics up front to go along with extra garnishes and exclusive N-Sport alloy wheels underneath. Now, standard variants come without all these, but they still look the same for the most part.
Okay. Let’s move on inside.
Gladly, because the changes inside are equally as noteworthy as the ones outside. Nissan has basically ripped out the entire interior of the old model to replace it with something much better and one that’s apt for this era.
The Almera now sports a black-laden cabin with a cleaner layout than that of its predecessor’s. It has the new Nissan steering wheel as well as an updated instrument cluster. The center portion—from the top of the dash to the new infotainment system and A/C controls all the way to the shift lever—caps off the fresh new look.
What’s the verdict, then?
Nissan hit the mark with the styling of the next-gen Almera. We reckon that bold exterior and that stylish interior won’t be growing old anytime soon.
