The BYD eMAX 7 is one step closer to a Philippine debut. BYD’s electric MPV already has its homologation papers from the Land Transporation Office (LTO), for both its superior and standard variants.
It is currently on display at the 2025 Bangkok International Motor Show as the BYD M6. BYD Cars Philippines and ACMobility have yet to officially announce its local arrival, however several spy shots have already surfaced on social media.

2025 Bangkok International Motor Show highlights:
The local MPV segment seems to have boomed in the past few years. It seems like Filipino drivers and car buyers now appreciate compact seven-seaters with adjustable cargo space. A segment stalwart like the Toyota Innova now has more company than ever. The Mitsubishi Xpander, Honda BR-V, and Hyundai Stargazer are all common sights on our roads today.
It looks like BYD wants a slice of that segment with its own electrified MPV. According to the LTO, the BYD eMAX 7 follows the MPV blueprint with a seven-seater capacity, and a length of about 4,710mm. The more premium Superior Captain variant is configured as a six-seater, and will most likely have more safety features.

In BYD fashion, these are fully electric MPVs, with the standard eMAX 7 packing a 420km driving range, while the Superior variant can drive up to 530km.
Interestingly, the LTO also has homologation papers for the Denza D9 DM-i, a minivan from BYD’s luxury brand. The D9 is a PHEV, with a seven-seater layout and an opulent interior. The D9, along with the two eMAX 7 variants, make for a comprehensive three-row vehicle lineup that could appeal to the mass market and the luxury segments.
