The BYD Sealion 7 made waves yesterday at its preview during the 2026 Manila International Auto Show. No surprises there, given the popularity of its PHEV siblings the Sealion 5 and the Sealion 6. Fans and skeptics alike are keen to see what a purely electric offering from the Sealion nameplate can bring.
Earlier today, we were able to get our hands on the preliminary specs for the Sealion 7. Let’s compare them against the recently surfaced LTO homologation papers and see what we can learn.

A single variant—the ‘AWD Performance’ model—was declared on the document. The electric crossover’s power output is rated at 523hp and 690Nm of torque. Maximum cruising range is listed at 542km. The BYD Sealion 7 also measures in at 4,830mm long, 1,620mm tall, and 1,925mm wide, with a gross weight of 2,750kg.
These figures are consistent with the preliminary spec we saw, confirming that the Sealion 7 models arriving in the Philippines will be consistent in performance with those sold in neighboring markets.

Documentation for the RWD model hasn’t surfaced, neither from official sources nor LTO circulars, but that doesn’t rule out its arrival in the Philippines. We’ll just have to wait and see if more information comes in the following days related to the more basic Sealion 7.

We also happened to see the BYD Sealion 7 at the 2026 Bangkok International Motor Show earlier this year. Both in Manila and Bangkok, the EV was finished in Shark Grey, but other colors available will include Cosmos Black, Aurora White, and Deep Sea Blue.
As for other details not mentioned in LTO documentation but confirmed by the specs we saw, BYD’s full suite of driver assists dubbed ‘DiPilot ADAS’ will be built into the Sealion 7. This includes the 360-degree camera, collision warnings, blind spot detection, and more. And as with other BYD vehicles, the Blade Battery will let you power anything from small appliances to life-saving equipment with its vehicle-to-load or V2L capability.

Most important, we learned that the BYD Sealion 7 is making its way to our market towards the end of May this year. Interested buyers can already book their reservations for P50,000. No official prices just yet, but we’ll be following the BYD Sealion 7 closely as the story around it develops.
