In case you missed it, Porsche Philippines has quietly brought in the hybrid 911 Targa 4 GTS. The new model is now available on the brand’s website, and interested buyers can inquire about availability and pricing there. Like with other nameplates, the interior and exterior are extensively customizable, along with special options for wheels and seats.
Interestingly, the Land Transportation Office recently published homologation papers for the 911 Targa 4 GTS Hybrid, suggesting that a batch of units is currently bound for the Philippines. While this isn’t necessarily the newest Porsche to hit our shores, the 911 Targa 4 GTS is still one of the most complete offerings in the carmaker’s lineup.

It offers a peppy 3.6-liter flat-six with an electric turbocharger and motor. The T-Hybrid unit is then integrated into the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission to further optimize fuel efficiency—and to help generate some extra oomph when driving at lower speeds.

All in all, this 911 is rated for 534hp and 610Nm of torque, with a top speed of 312kph. It should then be able to hit 100kph in a speedy 3.1sec. Porsche also says that drivers should get around 9km/L, but that’s probably the least of your concerns.

The 911 Targa 4 GTS also gets rear-axle steering for improved driving stability and easier maneuvering. Porsche’s active suspension management system is also onboard, providing active damping. These are further adjustable when either the Normal or Sport driving modes are activated.
Being sensible is hardly the case when Porsches are involved; however, with how much the 911 Targa values comfort and efficiency, it almost sounds like a rational option—well, at least for those looking to buy a spritely grand tourer.
