The Toyota bz4X is set to debut sometime before the end of the year, and there seems to be some concern about its country of origin. For those who don’t know, this fully electric SUV is manufactured in Japan, Indonesia, and China—the latter under the Toyota-GAC partnership.

Well, those worries can be put to rest, as Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has just confirmed that the bZ4X units bound for the local market will be sourced from Japan.

Reservations for the fully electric SUV opened on November 7, and Toyota is still accepting pre-orders. Upon its release, the bZ4X will be offered in a sole AWD variant, with a P2.699 million price tag.

The Japanese carmaker then confirmed that the bZ4X is rated for 570km on a full charge. Power outputs are as expected with 338hp and 338Nm of torque drawn from the 73.11kWh battery.

This release follows the debut of the hybrid Ativ sedan, which went on sale in October earlier this year. While it seems Toyota is going all in on its electrified models, the brand made a surprise announcement, teasing the GR Corolla. It is expected to make its first local appearance on December 17 at the Clark International Speedway.

While it is unclear when the bZ4X will be officially released, all eyes will be on the GR Corolla come December 17th on GR Track Day. We’re down to the last few weeks of 2025, but it looks like TMP still has a lot of surprises left.
