Well, it turns out we were right: Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) was, in fact, set to launch the new Camry. The updated midsize sedan is officially here—albeit launched very quietly—and it looks like even the initial prices we published were correct and are now up on the TMP website.
But we’re not here to brag—we’re here to see what exactly this new Camry has to offer. Judging by the photos, we’ll have it available in the same spec as we saw during the first preview, with the Platinum White Pearl Mica exterior and the brown-laden interior. Take note, however, that the Camry comes standard in Attitude Black Mica for P2.651 million, while the aforementioned white colorway as well as Precious Metal adds P20,000 to the bill.

Unfortunately, while the prices on the website are already there and updated, there seem to be some remnants of the old Camry that have yet to be changed on the official page. Photos of the old model are still up there, and the specs have yet to be updated, so we’re not sure yet whether the new Camry will be getting the same hybrid setup with or without the power boost. Either way, it’ll be comprised of a 2.5-liter gasoline engine paired with an electric motor.
With the Camry getting a new lease of life in our market, the midsize-sedan segment lives to die another day. Does that mean there’s actually hope that the Honda Accord could make a comeback? We know Honda Cars Philippines says it isn’t impossible, so who knows?
