Chrome isn’t for everybody. Depending on the treatment and the application, some people can find the stuff too loud, tacky, or even obnoxious. If you sit on this side of the fence when it comes to chrome, Toyota has something you might be into.
In the US market, the Japanese car manufacturer offers several members of its lineup in a dark, chrome-less Nightshade Edition. This includes the 4Runner, the Highlander, the Sienna, and the Camry. Now, the all-new Toyota Corolla comes available in the same treatment.
There really isn’t much to this. Basically, the Nightshade Edition blacks out all of the Corolla’s exterior components: grille, side mirrors, window trim, sharkfin antenna, door handles, and 18-inch machined alloy wheels.
The rear gets a spoiler and lower diffuser in black, too. Even the Corolla badging gets the same treatment. Oh, by the way, no changes have been made to the vehicle’s interior.
Zack Snyder would be proud. You can get the Toyota Corolla Nightshade Edition in Super White, Classic Silver Metallic, and Black Sand Pearl to the tune of $22,750 (about P1.19 million).
So, what about you? Are you digging the Corolla’s blacked-out appearance or does it look too much like a member of the DCEU? Personally, we would love to have this option available in the Philippines. Let us know what you think in the comments.
