Did you enjoy the long weekend? If you’ve been out of town, welcome back to Metro Manila traffic and fluctuating fuel prices. And in the coming days, you’ll have to spend more at the pumps.

For the week of June 18 to 24, 2024, diesel prices will increase by a hefty P1.75 per liter, completely negating last week’s P1.20/L rollback. Gasoline prices will also go up by P0.85 per liter, while kerosene will also have a price hike of P1.90 per liter. Like we said, it’s not a good week to be topping up your fuel tanks.

Once these adjustments take effect, gasoline and diesel prices will have gone up by P6.90/L and P6/L, respectively, since the beginning of 2024. Meanwhile, kerosene prices will have had a net increase of P0.35/L since the start of the year.

If you want to save up on fuel costs, remember that fuel prices may vary depending on location and the brand of the fuel station; it might be cheaper somewhere along your regular route than near your place of residence or work. Is your car consuming more fuel than usual? Here’s one thing to check. While we’re at it, here are the signs your fuel injectors could be failing.
