It’s a good time to be in the market for a midsize SUV or a family MPV. Toyota Motor Philippines will be selling new versions of its most popular models in the coming weeks: the Fortuner and the Innova. Even if you’re not buying anytime soon, it’s perfectly okay to be curious about these upcoming IMV siblings.

The Fortuner will land first, going on sale on March 22. The Innova will be available next month (Toyota can’t give us an exact date yet). But we can tell you now that both models are a little better than we expected.

Toyota’s SUV is amazing in the top-spec 2.8 V trim, with comfort, power and features that used to be the domain of European models a few years ago. It even looks like a Volkswagen Touareg, we think. That said, opting for the smaller 2.4-liter oil-burner isn’t a bad choice either.

The Innova is the better-packaged vehicle, with more enticing features for the money. There’s a bit of a price jump from the previous generation, but the trendier design and the classy interior justify the higher asking price. You can read more about the Innova in our magazine's issue this month.

Above is a short video we prepared from one of TMP’s several press activities for its cash cows. If you’re bitin, don’t worry, you’ll be reading more about these IMV brothers both online and in print in the weeks to come. Stay tuned!
