Frankly, the Honda e is a good-looking car even without any visual add-ons. This isn’t stopping the carmaker from offering the clean, minimalist electric vehicle with a couple of aesthetic upgrades, though.
In the Japanese market, the Honda e is launching with a handful of genuine accessories meant to build on the quirky hatchback’s humble but eye-catching appearance. They’re relatively subtle, but if you’re looking to make your car stand out even just a little from the rest of the pack, the option is available.
The most notable upgrade to the exterior comes in the form of sportier-looking 17-inch wheels courtesy of Modulo. Personally, we think the stock look with black multi-spoke alloys is a more attractive look, but hey, if you dig these chunkier rims, go for it. You can also equip the Honda e with a front underskirt (which improves airflow, Honda claims), a different set of foglights, and a new front license-plate holder.
Inside, you can replace the Honda e’s wood trim on the dashboard and center console—which we think is some of the nicest-looking in the business—with a more unique dimple bronze one. Also available is an illuminated accent with the Honda e logo for the vehicle’s door well, nicer carpeting, and reversible luggage mat for the cargo area. Another accessory worth mentioning is a waterproof fabric cover for the charging port on the Honda e’s hood.
How much? Well, the new wheels will set you back a cool ¥58,300 (around P26,000) excluding taxes, while interior add-ons like the new bronze trim and the door-well illumination will cost you at least ¥16,500 (P7,500) and ¥30,800 (P14,000), respectively.
