What happens when you stuff an economy sedan to the gills with a whole catalog of performance parts? That formula delivered some of the most beloved enthusiast cars back in the day, and now it brings us this: the mean-looking Nissan Sentra Spec-V Concept.
Even before we get to tech specs, it’s already a head-turner. This Sentra is dressed up with a Bomex widebody kit, complemented by a carbon-fiber rear wing taken from an R35 GT-R Nismo. Other fun details include a gnarly custom-made side-exit exhaust peeking through the bodywork and functional air vents cut into the hood.

And under that hood lies a heavily modified 2.0-liter engine. It’s still the MR20DD it started with from the factory, but the Garrett turbocharger allows it to pump out 300hp—over double the stock output. All that power goes through a six-speed manual transmission to the front wheels.

Now, raise your hand if you said: “But wait! You can only get the new Sentra with a CVT!” Well, you see, that six-speed manual came from a Juke Nismo RS. Yes, that funky-looking, serious-handling crossover’s gearbox and limited-slip differential have been transplanted into the Sentra Spec-V Concept. We’re sure it took some serious engineering to wrangle all that together inside a sedan.

The build rides on very nice 19-inch Nismo LM-RS1 rims wrapped in Yokohama Advan Nova AD09 tires. Stopping power comes from a set of Brembo brakes also taken from an R35 GT-R Nismo, while the suspension uses customized coilovers and sway bars from the previous Sentra Nismo.
Inside, the front seats have been swapped for Recaro buckets from (you guessed it) an R35 GT-R Nismo, paired with a custom six-point Sparco seatbelt harness system designed specifically for the Sentra Spec-V Concept. The stock tiller has also been replaced with a lightweight Nismo steering wheel to complete the look.

The Sentra Spec-V Concept is making an appearance for the 2026 SEMA Show in Las Vegas next week, along with other builds like the Nissan Z Kaze concept. Nissan says it’s a tribute to the 1991 Sentra SE-R and the tuning community that gathered around it. Regardless, the Spec-V concept is very cool, and we’d love to see it carving corners on the open road.
Between this and Nismo Nick’s Sentra SE RS, it feels like there’s a clear blueprint for a future Sentra Nismo, right? After all, there’s plenty of room next to the Honda Civic Type R and the Hyundai Elantra N for another front-wheel-drive performance car. Wink wink, nudge nudge, Nissan...and bring it to the Philippines while you’re at it, please.
