While it hasn’t been around in most parts of Southeast Asia for quite some time already, the Nissan Sentra still has a strong following. So much so that here in the Philippines, there’s still some clamor to bring it back despite the sedan market thinning out.
Locally, we’ve skipped an entire generation of Sentra. We last had it here badged as the Sylphy, but it was discontinued even before the 2020s rolled in. Now, the all-new model has been revealed. ?Internally known as the B18, first photos of it have been revealed by Dongfeng.

Nissan through its official WeChat channel. There are no full specs just yet, but at least we know what the car looks like…from the outside, at least.

As China will be the first to get it, it will be badged as the Sylphy over there. At the same time, the Dongfeng Nissan facility will be building the cars, although the Sentra name is expected to be carried over in applicable markets.

By the looks of it, the design echoes that of the Nissan Evo Concept shown during the 2024 Beijing Motor Show. At the same time, it closely resembles the shadowy teaser that Nissan had shown months prior. It’s a significant departure from the outgoing B17 Sentra/Sylphy, and follows the brand’s current design language.
There’s the aggressive fanged headlights accompanied by a pair of LED strips on both sides. On to its side, it boasts a coupe-like profile with its low and sleek roofline with a six-window design. As for the rear, the swoopy trunklid is complemented by slim tail lights with a light bar that connects the clusters.

Powertrain details are still unknown, but it’s a safe bet that the B18 Nissan Sentra will be offered with an electrified powertrain option. There’s a good chance that it will share the same e-Power technology applied in the Serena minivan. If so, that means a 1.4-liter engine that serves as a generator that’s then mated to an electric motor, putting out 161hp.
More specs of the all-new Sylphy, as well as details and photos, are expected to be shown in the coming months. The car itself will be released to the Chinese public by the first quarter of 2026. As for the global Nissan Sentra, it’s likely to make its premiere by mid-2026.
