The all-new Toyota Land Cruiser 250, or what we refer to as the Land Cruiser Prado, officially goes on sale in Japan today, which is probably striking FOMO in the hearts of eager buyers waiting elsewhere in the world to score a unit.
To mark the occasion, Toyota has announced two ‘First Edition’ specs limited to a total of 8,000 cars for its home market. They’re based on the VX and ZX trim lines, but get some key visual identifiers that differentiate them as special editions.

What caught our attention while scanning the official release, however, was the customization parts released by JAOS and Toy-Factory for the all-new Prado. The JAOS add-ons provide more ruggedness to the appearance of the SUV and serve as additional armor when it ventures off-road, while the Toy-Factory interior kits let you enjoy the outdoors without having to rough it.

Toy-Factory, meanwhile, is offering two different bed kits that can convert the SUV’s cabin into a semi-double bed for two adults. One is a dealer-exclusive kit in faux leather (¥305,800), with color options matching the black or brown seats of the vehicle. The other is finished in premium suede (¥272,000), and can be ordered in green, gray, and black.

In Japan, the all-new Land Cruiser 250 is available in gasoline and diesel options. The gas-fed engines are a 160hp 2.7-liter naturally aspirated unit and a 279hp 2.4-liter turbopetrol. There’s only one diesel motor, a 2.8-liter turbocharged lump, but it’s available in standard and mild-hybrid forms, both making 201hp.
