The 2026 Manila International Auto Show, coverage issues aside, was a big one. We’re starting to feel the true shift in buyer preference, as hybrid and electrified models are now top-of-mind for consumers.

With this, we now look towards the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show happening in June. Many of us are excited, as the big carmakers who weren’t present during MIAS will be there. But more than anything, what we’re looking forward to is Toyota Motor Philippines’ presentation—see, a source has told us that the brand could be unveiling a trio of important new models.

As expected, the Land Cruiser FJ that we also saw at the 2026 Bangkok International Motor Show will be there. But what we’ve been told is that along with this quirky little SUV, the Land Cruiser Hybrid and the Hilux BEV will be unveiled as well.

While Toyota didn’t confirm these two when it announced its 2026 launches at the start of the year, it doesn’t come as a complete surprise. See, both the hybrid LC and the fully electric Hilux have already gotten recognition from the Department of Energy. That alone already indicated that Toyota could be cooking up a local launch.

Then again, neither our source’s word nor the DOE papers confirm anything just yet. We’ll still have to wait for Toyota’s official announcement before anything becomes, well, official. In any case, PIMS is right around the corner, so we won’t have to wait that long. Watch this space, we’ll keep you posted.
