Carmakers are starting to preview what they’ll be showcasing at the upcoming 2025 Japan Mobility Show. Mitsubishi will have a concept vehicle coming up, Honda will be displaying a rocket (among other things), Mazda will have what could be the RX-8’s successor, and of course, Toyota will be unveiling its new Century Coupe.
But out of all those, Nissan’s upcoming booth could potentially be the most eye-catching one yet. There’s still no next-generation GT-R or any big reveal to match that of its fellow automakers, but it’s the booth itself that’ll draw a lot of eyes: It’s manga-themed.

Nissan’s booth is “a bold artistic statement” that reflect’s this year’s JMS theme ‘Culture, Creation, and Future.’ It’s inspired by iconic manga culture, with the black-and-white palette paying homage to the genre. The idea Nissan has here is for the manga aesthetic to symbolize a blank canvas for storytelling, serving as a cultural bridge connecting Nissan’s heritage with its future.

Of course, Nissan’s latest products will be on display, including the new-look Leaf and Ariya and the all-new Patrol. The all-new Elgrand will also make its debut here at this monochrome stage on October 29.

“As designers, we find profound inspiration in Japan’s vibrant creative culture,” said Nissan corporate executive of Global Design Alfonso Albaisa. “This year’s booth is a celebration of that spirit—melding artistry and innovation to offer visitors a glimpse into the future of mobility. While the visual concept sets the stage, the true essence will come alive once visitors step inside, bringing their own color and energy to create a dynamic contrast against the backdrop.”
We’ll have more photos of this interesting-looking display come JMS. Until then, here are more photos.
