At long last, fuel prices will go down this coming week. The adjustments won’t fully undo the past month’s price hikes, but it’s a start, we guess.

For the period of July 16 to 22, 2024, gasoline prices will decrease by P0.60 per liter, after four weeks of consecutive price increases yielded a cumulative increase of P4.80/L. Diesel prices will go down by P0.95 per liter, after also increasing by a total of P4.80/L over the past month. Finally, kerosene will have a price rollback of P1.15 per liter

Once these adjustments take effect, gasoline and diesel prices will have gone up by P10.25/L and P8.10/L, respectively, since the beginning of 2024. Meanwhile, kerosene prices will have had a net increase of P1.20/L since the start of the year.

If you want to save up on fuel costs, remember that fuel prices may vary depending on location and the brand of the fuel station; it might be cheaper somewhere along your regular route than near your place of residence or work. Is your car consuming more fuel than usual? Here’s one thing to check. While we’re at it, here are the signs your fuel injectors could be failing.
