Few things are more heartbreaking to a car lover than seeing amazing cars rotting away in some abandoned lot somewhere. It’s sad enough coming across a dust-covered auto waiting for its owner in a parking garage, but coming across supercars being eaten by rust? Simply gut-wrenching.
If that description up there unsettles you, you’d do good to stop reading here. YouTube channel Geely UnCut recently visited a car graveyard in China to check out some of the hidden gems decomposing underneath a sea of vines and shrubs, and, well, see for yourself.
One of the hosts is surprised by the sight of a Chevrolet Corvette wasting away—the first enthusiast ride they come across inside the graveyard. The muscle car was just the tip of the iceberg, though, as they eventually find an Audi R8, a Bentley Flying Spur, and even an Aston Martin Vantage as they go deeper into the graveyard.
Also, these cars might have been hidden away in some discreet empty plot of land somewhere, but scavengers still managed to find them and take emblems, hub caps, and other minor car parts.
Oh well. Chances are each of these vehicles has a story to tell—perhaps an owner running away from debt, or worse, law enforcement. We guess we’ll never know. What’s the most expensive ride you’ve ever come across rotting away somewhere? Let us know in the comments.
