We’ve been waiting a while for the next-generation Mitsubishi Pajero to come out. Heck, at this point, with all the rumors bouncing around, we’ll be happy with mere (but official) confirmation.

A Filipino digital artist—perhaps tired of sitting on his hands for too long—recently took matters into his own hands. Enoch Gabriel Gonzales, the guy who, you may recall, created design concepts for the Nissan GT-R and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, has now revealed renders of his version of the modern-day Pajero.

Enoch’s Pajero concept combines design cues from both the third-generation BK Pajero and current Mitsubishi Models. The muscular Dynamic Shield design dominates the front fascia, highlighted by the T-shaped headlamps flanking the massive grille. At the rear, matching T-shaped taillights adorn the liftgate.

The spare tire on the rear door is absent, but there seems to be part of the bodywork protruding from this end. It harks back to the Pajeros of old, and Enoch himself said that this was to maintain the ‘car-wearing-its-backpack’ kind of look.

“For this concept, the Pajero goes back to its ladder-frame roots as it shares its platform with the new Infiniti QX80 and the upcoming Nissan Patrol,” said Enoch. “It is also dimensionally and mechanically the same as the said SUVs. I decided to use the Nissan platform as it is the most cost-efficient way for Mitsubishi to bring back the Pajero, and to benefit from its alliance with Nissan.”

“I tried a minimalist approach for this design (ex. flush door handles, cladding-free body panels, clamshell hood, hidden spare tire) to give a clean and sophisticated look and to appeal more to luxury SUV buyers.

Actually, this isn’t the first time Enoch created a Pajero concept. Back in 2021, he also made one based on what seemed to be Mitsubishi’s design language at the time. Frankly, even if it does supposedly share some parts with its Nissan cousins, Enoch’s latest Pajero design looks fresher. It looks like it’ll age better, too. What do you guys think?
